Jim McNaull - Ft Lauderdale Director

Jim McNaull is presently serving as the Director of The Gathering in Ft. Lauderdale. He started this initiative in the summer of 2011. Jim is a long time friend of the founder of The Gathering, John Tolson, and National President and CEO of The Gathering, Larry Kreider. Jim has spoken at The Gathering in other cities as a luncheon speaker. He has also served as the Spiritual Director for short term mission projects for the Gathering's mission outpost in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Jim has also served as the Interim Pastor, Head of Staff, of The First Presbyterian Church of Ft. Lauderdale, 2007-2009.

Married to the former Pam Andrews for 43 years, she is a Life Coach working with The Place Ministries in Central and South Florida. They have two adult children who live out of the area and one granddaughter, Kendall, who lives in Davenport, Iowa.

Having a passion for helping men grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ is Jim's calling for this time in his life. He has started small groups in the Ft. Lauderdale area studying The Four Priorities, a discipleship book of The Gathering written by John Tolson and Larry Kreider. Jim wants the men of Ft. Lauderdale to make a difference for Christ at home and in the workplace.

Four Priorities

What is the Four Priorities?

A new book by Dr. John Tolson and Larry Kreider provides a process for applying wellness-centered, Biblical principles that revolutionize personal life as well as the life of the local church.

The book, The Four Priorities: Life is Too Short to Get It Wrong, confronts life's voids, challenges and demonstrates how to "get it right" through a personal, progressive commitment to Christ, self-valuation, relationship building and community connections. The new book hopes to bring direction and focus to thousands of churches and millions of believers across the United States. Exponential multiplication is the outcome of The Four Priorities.

What's Inside?

The Four Priorities uses a creative mix of real-world case studies and scriptural analogies to identify with readers. It measures your "got right" factor and forces the answers to tough questions, such as "Have you left an imprint on the lives of people and your community?" It then presents a pathway to achieving the following four priorities which characterize a successful, balanced way of life.

  • Priority 1: A personal, progressive commitment to Jesus Christ
  • Priority 2: A personal, progressive commitment to yourself
  • Priority 3: A personal, progressive commitment to relationships
  • Priority 4: A personal, progressive commitment to the work of Christ in the world

Suggested Timelines and Uses

As the authors take readers through these four categories of life, they provide hands-on tools at the end of each chapter, such as a list of "Daily Reflection Questions" that can be used for individual reading or leading a small group.

There are 40 chapters with 40 topics/outlines that are designed to be read in 40 weeks or worked through in a small group. The authors intend for those who complete the material to be equipped with the Christ-centered outlook on life so that they can make the greatest impact on their family, community and the world.

The Goals and Objectives with this Book?

Originally created in 2003 by Tolson and Kreider, The Four Priorities was used as a study curriculum for The Gathering, a national men's outreach ministry and community service organization Tolson founded in 1978. The authors have adapted the material into its current workbook style with the objective of teaching the principles on how to become a person of high impact. The goal is for the book to be used in seminars, churches and small groups in 25 cities within the next decade.

Mission Emanuel

Mission Emanuel is a partnership ministry located in the Dominican Republic focused on transforming a community through the power of Jesus Christ. The ministry is geographically headquartered in the small villages of Cielo and Nazaret, located on the western edge of Santo Domingo. Between two campuses, the mission has two schools, a medical center with a physical therapy clinic, dental office, water filtration plant, women's cooperative workroom, screen-printing room and multiple storage facilities. The Gathering USA based in Orlando, Florida serves as the administrative support providing leadership and supervision.

Mission Emanuel hosts short-term missions teams from all over the US throughout the year. While the teams work on various construction projects, the main focus is on building relationships. Teams are encouraged to spend time in the community meeting people and gaining new perspective on God, another culture, and the developing world.

Our staff, trip participants, and residents are committed to seeking change in an impoverished community that will last for generations.
